     There is something very special about soft pastel paintings, it is a medium that is often avoided by many artists due to its complex challenges in application, however when its use is well understood and properly executed there is little else in terms of fine art mediums that match soft pastels richness in color. The reasons for this are due to the purity of unpolluted pigments, the beautiful immediacy of the pastel color applied to surfaces are unencumbered by binding agents thus there is only the incredible luminosity of paint which is an absolute visual delight that runs across an amazingly broad spectrum.
